This YMCA branch began programs in the Alvin area in May 2000 and we are excited to announce that construction has begun on our new 25,000 sq. ft facility! The facility will be named after Thelma Ley Anderson and is scheduled to open early 2007 at 3201 Texas 35. This 14 acre tract is next to the Nolan Ryan Center and Alvin Community College. In addition to an outdoor swimming pool and spray park, a wellness center, a gymnasium, multipurpose meeting rooms, childcare facility and locker rooms; Memorial Herman will occupy some space for a rehabilitation center. Programs will be offered for youth, families, adults and seniors - the entire community will benefit from this center.

Houston and surrounding communities. The YMCA has been meeting community needs for over 150 years. In our YMCA programs, it is our deep desire to practice and teach the core values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Caring and faith and to promote the development of Spirit, Mind, and Body.

We work diligently to provide quality programs and services. Your feedback is extremely helpful as we strive to continuously improve what we provide.
