The Galveston Family YMCA has been serving the Galveston community since 1859 and is currently the oldest YMCA west of the Mississippi. With the leadership of the Board of Directors the Galveston Family YMCA became part of the YMCA of Greater Houston on January 1, 2007. What does this mean to the Galveston community? The YMCA will be able to serve the community with greater resources in training of staff, new and enhanced programs, a fitness center location and many experienced leaders.

By joining the Galveston Family YMCA you will be part of the worldwide movement that serves over 30 million people! The YMCA has been meeting community needs for over 150 years. In our YMCA programs, it is our deep desire to practice and teach the core values of Respect, Responsibility, Honest, Caring, and Faith, and to promote the development of Spirit, Mind and Body. I sincerely hope you will consider joining our Y and take advantage of the numerous programs and services we offer.
