Health & Wellness Programs for Youth & Family
The Y is committed to not only having programs that strengthen adults but programs for both kids and families!

MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do It) Program
The Houston Y is one of the first YMCAs in the country to partner with MEND in offering a childhood obesity intervention program for children and their parents.

This is the last session the MEND program will be offered for free at Houston YMCAs. Each program lasts 8-10 weeks and meets twice per week, typically a weekday evening and Saturday morning. Parents must attend with their child.

MEND combines three key elements of safe, effective weight management and sustained lifestyle change: healthy eating, regular physical activity, and behavior change. Children and families who attend the MEND Program learn important skills and gain knowledge to help them feel more fit, healthier, and happier for the rest of their lives.
