About the work of YMCA International Services

YMCA International Services is a unique center of the YMCA of Greater Houston.  It was established in 1978 in response to a large influx of refugees from Southeast Asia and addressed the immediate resettlement needs of those individuals and families who were fleeing from persecution in their home countries.

Since that time, YMCA International Services has developed into a multi-service agency that provides holistic services to Houston's refugee and immigrant communities, with a special focus on facilitating and fostering self-sufficiency. Additionally, YMCA International Services is a Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) accredited agency offering services in a variety of languages.
