HOUSTON — School will soon be over and children can’t wait for summer! Parents want to ensure their children are safe, supervised and engaged in activities that keep their minds and bodies active when school lets out. Children eagerly anticipate the free time and simply want to have fun! The YMCA of Greater Houston offers more than one solution to keep everyone happy this coming season.
Parents don’t need to leave their children in front of television sets all summer long when the YMCA of Greater Houston has many licensed day camp sites, as well as certified staff throughout the city. Children have the opportunity to play and participate in character building activities, arts and crafts, sports, games and so much more under the watchful eyes of caring role models.
For kids, Y camp is a fun and happy place to enjoy the summer play games, create arts and crafts, explore science and technology, swim, participate in field trips, appreciate nature and discover and value our many cultures. Some of this summer’s day camp themes include “Go Green,” “Wonder Emporium,” “Spurs, Boots & Saddles,” “Picasso’s Playground.”
YMCA Day Camp and summer youth activities reinforce the Y’s core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, caring and faith. Spaces are still available. Visit www.ymcahouston.org or 713-956-5566.
