Becoming Your Child's Biggest Fan

Cheers that Communicate Encouragement to Your Child
I attended my son's first Junior High football game last week. Sitting in the stands, I watched him with such pride and excitement and cheered him on like never before! While listening to the other parents cheer for their child, I was reminded that I am my son's biggest fan!

Regardless of the activity, every child needs to know their parent is their biggest fan. Just to hear "I love you" or "I'm proud of you." You can be that special person in your child's life! As a parent you're already on the cheerleading squad, but it's your responsibility to become the head cheerleader for your child! Three cheers you can do for your child to show them you are their biggest fan:

  • Don’t miss the "game"
  • Encourage their socks off
  • Catch them doing something good

Bible Studies
George Williams, born on a farm in 1821, came to London 20 years later as a sales assistant in a draper's shop, a forerunner of today's department store. He and a group of fellow drapers organized the first YMCA to substitute Bible study and prayer for life on the streets. Today, most of our YMCAs offer Bible studies in their facilities. Contact your local YMCA to see if Bible study is an option.

To start a Bible Study at your local YMCA Center please contact the Chaplain at 713-353-5209 or the Executive Director of your YMCA facility.
