The Upper Kirby District Foundation and the YMCA of Greater Houston have recently partnered in an effort to bring community programming to Upper Kirby and surrounding neighborhoods. A market study, completed in February 2005, identified a great need for community programs ranging from aquatics, sports and fitness to adult education and senior services. The initial phase of this project has been made possible thanks to a planning grant awarded to the Upper Kirby District Foundation by Houston Endowment in July 2005. We are excited to begin programming in the Fall of 2006 and look forward to adding more programs and facility planning in the near future.
