WELCOME TO THE WEST OREM YMCA

Dear Friends,

The West Orem YMCA is under construction with our new branch that is scheduled to open in spring 2007. We invite you to join us as a Founding Member of our YMCA. Both Founding Members and those who make a pledge to our Community Capital building fund will be recognized on a donor wall inside the new facility.

After doing some research, I learned that children in the Southwest Houston area are drowning at an alarming rate. I would like for the West Orem Family YMCA to offer Free Swim Lessons to everyone in the community. That's right, FREE! You may say that's a great idea, but but the YMCA Board of Managers is asking, how do we pay for this? We came up with a solution that can help the children in our area for years and years to come.

I approached Deborah LeBlanc, YMCA Board Chair, about my desire to begin an endowment for our YMCA. The endowment would build up until we could provide full scholarships for community members who had the desire to learn to swim. I started with Deborah because I knew that her younger brother Aubrey drowned as a young child. She immediately told me yes that she would give a donation to the endowment. I promised her my family's financial support as well. My motivation came in knowing that 30 years from now, someone will thank us for starting this endowment today. Maybe it will save the life of someone you know and love.

We would like to invite everyone to join us and give generously.
