YMCA Of Greater Houston Earns 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator

YMCA of Greater Houston’s sound fiscal management practices and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. The coveted 4-star rating puts the YMCA of Greater Houston in a very select group of high-performing charities. Out of the thousands of nonprofits Charity Navigator evaluates, only one out of four earns 4 stars – a rating that demands rigor, responsibility and commitment to openness.

Whether due to unemployment, poor health, financial hardship or special circumstance, people struggle to provide for their families. The YMCA of Greater Houston has been responding to the needs of individuals and families in the greater Houston community for more than 125 years. Through skills development, the support of a teacher or coach, or the socialization of a group of like-minded individuals, the Y fosters the care, nurturing and respect all people need and deserve.

Only by working together can we give more kids the opportunity to grow strong in spirit, mind and body. Contributions received from our annual support campaign fund the growing number of scholarships awarded to individuals and families in need of vital Y programs and services.
