2019 Baytown YMCA Gator Ride

Parking is allowed in all lots on the Lee College Campus during the event except for Lots 2 and 3. Ride participants are asked to follow the directions of the volunteers directing traffic into parking lots. Registrations will be held in the Gymnasium (Building 14), and the post ride lunch will be held in the Gym/Fitness center.

Gator Ride Routes

The start/finish line is located on the Lee College campus in front of the sports arena on Lee Drive. Rides of 33, 43, 53 and 63 miles are supported. The 43- and 63-mile rides go over the Fred Hartman Bridge.

Assorted snacks, fruit, sports drinks, water and portable toilets will be available at each stop. Teams of volunteers provide support at all rest stops.

What is the Gator Ride?
The Gator Bike Ride is a non-competitive bike ride that benefits the Baytown Family YMCA’s Annual Campaign. In 28 years, Gator Ride has raised more than $390,000 and impacted over 6,500 families.

Who does it benefit?
All proceeds from the Gator Ride and the Baytown Family YMCA’s Annual Campaign. This program provides financial assistance for people in need of YMCA programs who may not have the ability to pay. YMCA programs help improve and enrich the lives of youth, individuals and families in our community. The YMCA is proud to bring people together for an event that helps strengthen our community.

Are there any restrictions for the Gator Ride?
Yes, we require all participants to be 12 years of age or older and do not allow any types of child bike carriers on the course. All riders must have a helmet to participate in any of the rides.

Will there be food available at the event?
Yes, all paid participants will receive a complimentary Chick-fil-A meal courtesy of the Chick-fil-A of Baytown. Chick-fil-A will also have sandwiches available for purchase. Coffee service provided by Starbucks.

What if the weather is bad?
The Gator Ride will continue as planned, rain or shine. This year, however, we expect great weather and a wonderful event.
