Link Up Greater Houston
Link Up Greater Houston is a collaboration of 20 youth-serving organizations that come together each year to provide 600 middle school and high school students with an opportunity to grow through positive experiences while promoting positive attitudes and choices based on the 40 Developmental Assets identified by the Search Institute.
Our annual conference will feature inspirational speakers and have exciting performances. Students will engage in activities and interactive sessions that will help them:
- Voice their concerns
- Build positive relationships and communication skills
- Learn about tools that will help them to meet their potential
They will also focus on leadership development, conflict resolution, goal setting and financial planning for college.
Hosted by the YMCA of Greater Houston, Link Up will be held on Saturday, October 28 from 9 am to 4 pm at the Houston Community College – Central Campus (1300 Holman, Houston, TX 77004, San Jacinto Building).
40 DEVELOPMENTAL ASSETS
Based on the 40 Developmental Assets, Link Up Greater Houston works to empower youth to achieve their full potential. These are 40 positive experiences and qualities that everyone can use to improve the lives of youth. They also promote positive attitudes and choices to protect youth from risky behaviors that get in between them and their goals.
