EnhanceFitness is physical activity management for seniors and a proven community-based senior fitness and arthritis management program. 


General Overview

The purpose of EnhanceFitness at the YMCA is to help older adults become more active, energized and empowered for independent living. The program consists of low impact exercise classes that are safe and challenging for older adults of all fitness levels, from active to less fit or frail.

EnhanceFitness has been nationally recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Administration on Aging and the National Council on Aging.

Classes are held in a relaxed atmosphere that promotes fun and laughter and provides lots of opportunities for the social interaction that is vital to senior health and well-being.

EnhanceFitness exercises focus on increasing cardiovascular endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility, which can help reduce arthritis symptoms. A certified instructor leads classes at a pace that works for each participant.

Cost

The costs associated with the program are supported by generous donations through our Better Us Fundraising. Space is limited for each session to allow for a low EnhanceFitness at the YMCA instructor-to-participant ratio.
