The YMCA Children's Academy provides enriching experiences that help to facilitate a child's cognitive, social, physical and emotional growth. We strive to meet the developmental needs of each individual child by working in partnership with their families. All early care locations follow the Creative Curriculum to ensure that our children are ready for school. Creative Curriculum provides the most innovative and effective curriculum, assessment, professional development, and family connection resources to programs serving children from birth through kindergarten. 

The goal of early childhood development programs is for children to be well prepared to enter school. Our programs are licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, Child Care Licensing. Contact a YMCA Children's Academy location closest to you for more information.

INFANT CARE – 6 weeks to 17 months

YMCA Infant Care Programs serve infants 6 weeks – 17 months. Daily curriculum is designed to meet the growth and developmental needs of each individual child. The Creative Curriculum has researched-based objectives that focus on developmentally appropriate practices and how to offer nurturing daily routines and meaningful experiences for infants. The YMCA infant program will accommodate any parent need to breast feed their child who is enrolled in our program.

YMCA Children's Academy Infant Care is currently offered at the following locations:

TODDLER CARE – 18 months to 35 months

YMCA Toddler Care Programs serve children 18 months to 35 months.  Toddlers are busy and learning at a very fast pace.  Our comprehensive Creative Curriculum focuses on responsive care and the routines and experiences that are essential for this age group.  Self-help skills, including toilet training, are highly individual and complex.  YMCA staff will work closely with parents through this experience.

To begin the registration process: 

  • You must be a YMCA program or facility member to register your child for after school care. There is no cost to become a program member. 

  • After you have become a member, we ask that you create an online account so that you can register for after school care.

Additional information:

  • If you need financial assistance, please complete this form and bring it into your local Y.

  • If your child has any special needs or will need special accommodations while in our care, please contact your local Y prior to starting the registration process.

  • Your child will not be enrolled in After School until we receive the following:

    • Signed registration form

    • Completed and signed General Liability Waiver

    • Received or scheduled payment

    • We ask that you have the following information available when you begin the online registration process*:

      • Your child's shot records

      • Emergency contact information for someone other than yourself (not a parent or guardian)

      • Your name, address and phone number

      • Release of contact information

      • Insurance information

      • Physician's information

      • Hospital information

      • Payment information
