BUILDING STRONGER FUTURES

In the YMCA Preschool Program, we strive to meet the developmental needs of each individual child by working in partnership with their families. All early care locations follow the Creative Curriculum to ensure that our children are ready for school. Creative Curriculum provides the most innovative and effective curriculum, assessment, professional development, and family connection resources to programs serving children from birth through kindergarten.

The goal of early childhood development programs is for children to be well prepared to enter school. Our programs are licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, Child Care Licensing. Contact a YMCA Children's Academy location closest to you for more information.

Preschool Programs – 36 months through age 5

Children ages 36 months through age five will participate in the YMCA Preschool Program. The Creative Curriculum for Preschool is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that teaches children to be creative, confident thinkers through hands experiences.

The Creative Curriculum uses research-based objectives to lead teachers as they develop enriching lessons for the children. The 38 objectives are broken down into ten content areas. The ten content areas are social-emotional, language, physical, cognitive, literacy, mathematics, science and technology, social studies, the arts and English language acquisition.
