Center for the Healing of Racism - Racism in the Woods
January 27, 2021 | 6 PM
During a global pandemic, the outdoors is one of the only safe spaces to spend time in the company of other people. Research shows that spending time in nature is associated with a long list of health benefits – physical, emotional, and spiritual. Yet, like so many other public spaces, the woods is a white space, where BIPOC face special risks, beyond the spiders and bears. Please join us for a Zoom presentation and dialogue about experiencing racism in the woods.
Volunteer ASL Interpreting will be provided by interns enrolled in the University of Houston ASL Interpreting Program.
Free and open to the public, with donations encouraged.
