With so many demands on today's families, parents need all the support they can get. That's why child care at the Y is about more than looking after kids. It's about nurturing their development by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith. We partner with you, reinforcing the values you teach at home.

Learn more about our programs

Our partnerships with local school districts offer after-school care and school-release day options for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade at dozens of locations across the Greater Houston area.

Parents and staff work together to create a strong partnership that incorporates parental requests in the development of healthy, thriving children.

The YMCA Children's Academy provides enriching experiences that help to facilitate a child's cognitive, social, physical and emotional growth.

Creative play is more than just fun and games. Whether you’re looking for dance, music, or art, the Y has something for kids and teens of all ages.

All kids have great potential. At the Y, we work every day to help them set and achieve personal and educational goals.

The Y offers fun and enriching opportunities for teenagers to get involved, learn and have fun through participation in service-learning trips.

The Y's cause is to strengthen communities. Child abuse is a community issue, therefore it is our issue. The safety of children is the number one priority of our organization. We have a zero tolerance policy for child abuse and report any allegations to the appropriate state agency. Please view our Child Safety Policy.
