Healthy Kids Day Saturday, April 26 | 10 am-1 pm
Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow. But for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are prone to gain more weight and fall behind in studies. On April 26, the Y will celebrate Healthy Kids Day®, our national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids.
YMCA Youth Sports programs promote healthy kids, families and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition, the value of participation over winning and team building. Register now>
In YMCA After School care, kids engage in physical, learning and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. In addition to supplementing what they have learned in school, they participate in interactive learning models that engage critical thinking skills, get assistance with their homework from trained YMCA staff.
