How Games are Played

YMCA Adaptive Sports provides players, regardless of their ability, the opportunity to play sports. Each player dresses in an official uniform, and plays the game just like their peers with the help of a buddy. The game is geared to the ability level of each player. There are no barriers at our facilities and games are played on a synthetic surface or wood flooring for easy mobility.

Adaptive Sports Clinics

Put a bit of sport in your day! Adaptive programs provide children and adults with disabilities the chance to play sports and participate in learning opportunities in a safe, fun atmosphere.
Y-trained staff will lead players in drills and game designed to challenge and develop gross motor skills all while having fun with friends! Opportunities include:

• Recreational Minors (ages 4-9): Perfect for our younger athletes eager to discover their potential and develop foundational skills in a nurturing environment.
• Recreational Majors (ages 10+): For those looking to enjoy the joy of sports in a relaxed, fun, and social setting. All about the love of the game and community spirit.
• Competitive (ages 12+): Designed for athletes ready to take their game to the next level, focusing on advanced skills, strategy, and competitive play.
